Hikmatyar's support for ISIS should have waited for clarification of certain actions of ISIS as per Islamic law and its recognition as a government by Muslim countries as lawful sunni government of sunni areas of Iraq and Syria .

Hikmatyar was the most closely alligned to Pakistan jehadi leader of the 1980's. He was close to Jamaat Islami as well . When Benazir came into power , it seems some elements within our state structure at behest of outsiders wanted Hikmatyar influence decrease. Some within our intelligence agencies did not like some of the habits of Hikmatyar and once chief architect of Taliban from our agencies was heard explaining his dislike for Hikmatyar in 1994.

My view is that Taliban were actually created at US behest and support of Benazir to neutralize the Hikmatyar group but Hikmatyar instead of fighting any crucial make or break battle withdrew from Chahrsiab base near Kabul and Taliban took Kabul instead . An American and Benazir miscalculation about field of battle.

Hikmatyar was then heard courting Iranians for some time but may be he smelled early on the US -Iran growing nexus some years back and presumably returned .

This supporting of ISIS by Hikmatyar is basically a move to challenge Mullah omar , but this is not a move which will not have its critics. ISIS is behaving like not one but several different organizations . It also have to explain many moves done under its name like some slaughters , like not entering into some agreement with shias in shia majority areas of Iraq for safety of sunnis living there , afterall ISIS is now a government of large parts of Iraq and Syria . ISIS should be recognized internationally so that pseudo ISIS springing everywhere can be stopped . Some of the activities of these pseudoISIS sound more like American war cotractor agenda .
